Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Tampa Yankees got the win.
The Tampa Yankees picked up a win at George M. Steinbrenner Field, taking down the Dunedin Blue Jays, 4-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Tampa was right-hander Juan Salinas. He played a central role in the triumph. Tampa reliever Dan Adams picked up the win. Doug Winters took the loss for Dunedin.
The Yankees got a clutch hit from third baseman Pat Bailey. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Yankees.
In postgame comments to the Tampa Herald, Salinas said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Yankees improved their record to 20-19 with the win over Dunedin.
