Daytona Tortugas starter Doug Hayes pitched his team past the St. Lucie Mets, 3-1. Don Chase picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Pancho Gutiérrez suffered the loss. Alex Ashe stitched up the save, his 10th.

Daytona took a 3-1 lead on Jonathan Litton's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Litton hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Lucie pitcher Mike Arnold visibly frustrated.

Litton told a Daytona Today reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.

The Tortugas bumped their record to 21-16 with this latest triumph.
