Marauders Pin 4-2 Loss on Jupiter
|
The Jupiter Hammerheads were defeated, 4-2, by the Bradenton Marauders at Calvin Falwell Field, even though Sam David pitched well for Jupiter. The winner was Bradenton reliever Jesús Sánchez, now 3-1. The loser was Sam David. Getting the save was Ken Whitehead, his 4th.
Ken Webb had a big 2-run double for the Marauders in the bottom of the first inning. With Bradenton leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Sam David, who is tied for 8th in the FSL with a 9.1 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marauders ahead, 3-0.
Said losing manager Mike Mordecai: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
The Marauders now have a record of 18-17 with the win over Jupiter.
