Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Charlotte Stone Crabs and Fort Myers Miracle.

Charlotte ruined an otherwise fine effort from José Romero by toppling Fort Myers, 2-1. The Fort Myers pitcher threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Josh Cox recorded his 7th save for Charlotte.

The Stone Crabs beat the Miracle in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single José González produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Eric Patterson, González gave his team the lead, 2-1, when he hit a 2-run single.

"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Charlotte skipper Brad Salmon.

Charlotte has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
