Flying Tigers Hand Daytona 9-6 Loss
|
The Lakeland Flying Tigers downed the Daytona Tortugas, 9-6. The hitting star was second baseman Jesús Ríos. Ríos was 1-2 with 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Flying Tigers. The Flying Tigers, now 15-7, have been red hot.
In the bottom of the sixth, Jesús Ruíz delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Lakeland first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Flying Tigers in front, 9-6.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Ríos told the Lakeland Today. "But we take nothing for granted."
