The Jupiter Hammerheads besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Tampa center fielder Sam Morehead by beating the Yankees, 6-3, at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Morehead was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Picking up his 4th save was former first round draft pick José Sánchez. At 15-7, the Hammerheads have played well so far.

Yan Carlos Rodríguez had a big 2-run double for the Hammerheads in the top of the first inning. With Jupiter leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Sébastien Billy and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hammerheads ahead, 3-0.

"I like our moxie," said Hammerheads manager Mike Mordecai.
