Gutiérrez Lays Hammer Down in 3-2 Win
The St. Lucie Mets and Jupiter Hammerheads played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

In a low-scoring tilt between the St. Lucie Mets and the Jupiter Hammerheads, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Pancho Gutiérrez was the difference-maker. The St. Lucie right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The victory makes St. Lucie 11-7, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2026.

The Hammerheads had their hands full with Gutiérrez, who overpowered Jupiter hitters while racking up 12 strikeouts.

"I went after the hitters," said Gutiérrez. "No pussyfooting around."
