The St. Lucie Mets went home winners at Tradition Field, thanks in large part to starter Colt Peters. Peters stifled the Dunedin Blue Jays, enabling St. Lucie to grab the 4-1 win. Peters, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Kel Turner wrapped it up, recording his 4th save.

The Mets got a big boost from right fielder Beau Goodwin who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Blue Jays hurler Chris Hughes. It was his 2nd walk of the season and put St. Lucie on top, 1-0.

In comments to the St. Lucie Citizen, Peters admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."

St. Lucie, now 7-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
