The Myrtle Beach Pelicans rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Dimitri Nedelec to a win, beating the Lynchburg Hillcats, 8-2, at Ed Smith Stadium. After today's action, Myrtle Beach sits at 66-74, while Lynchburg falls to 89-51.

Joe McDonald had a big run-scoring triple for the Pelicans in the top of the sixth inning. With Myrtle Beach leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a splitter from José Nájera, who is tied for 3rd in the CAR in innings pitched with 191.2, and swatted a triple to left. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pelicans ahead, 3-0.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," McDonald said.
