Pelicans Fall Short at Lynchburg, 7-6
The Lynchburg Hillcats dumped the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 7-6, in large part due to shortstop Mike Conner. On the day, Conner went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Hillcats. With the win over Myrtle Beach, the Hillcats improved to 88-50.

Dwayne Wilson delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Hillcats. For the game, Wilson was 1-4, while adding 3 RBI.
