With 3-1 Win, Fightin Phils Improve to 7-7
|
Reading Fightin Phils pitcher Ron Brooks was in top form, leading his team past the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 3-1. Brooks picked up the win for Reading, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Willie Griffin earned the save for Reading, his 3rd of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Chris Douglas? The Reading right fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Fightin Phils on top, 2-0. For the game, Douglas had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
