Spirited fans greeted the Myrtle Beach Pelicans for their clash with the Carolina Mudcats.

The Carolina Mudcats beat the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 10-5, at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. Joe Powers was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. The 24-year old right fielder was a menace to Myrtle Beach all day. The win belonged to Jeff Harris in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Willie Johnson took the loss for Myrtle Beach.

In the top of the sixth, the Mudcats grabbed the lead when Powers hit his 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple off Willie Johnson made it 4-2, Carolina.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Powers.

The win for the Mudcats raised their record to 86-49.
