Dash Wrest Win from Red Sox, 3-2

The Winston-Salem Dash eked out a 3-2 win versus the Salem Red Sox at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Cristiano Rodríguez. He was terrific. Winston-Salem reliever Ed McDermott was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Mike Lane. The Dash bumped their record to 82-51 with this latest triumph.
José Rivera was the walk-off hero for Winston-Salem. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Dash left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
After the game, Rodríguez told the Winston-Salem Herald, "Like I've always said, the challenge is what makes this game worth playing."
