Salem Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
Wilmington wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Chris Goodwin, falling to the Salem Red Sox, 2-1. Goodwin threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Salem reliever José Pereira picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Steve Bell shouldered the loss. The win elevated the Red Sox to 65-47.

Jim Alberts delivered a 2-run double in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Red Sox. For the game, Alberts went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Alberts told reporters after the game.
