The Wilmington Blue Rocks battled the Winston-Salem Dash into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Blue Rocks won it, finally, 4-2, in 10 innings. In the game, Wilmington first baseman Steve Tamamura was 2 for 3 with a triple, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win went to Steffen Lord in relief, making him now 8-5. Mike Brown took the loss for Winston-Salem. Steve Brown earned save number 13 this season.

Tamamura had a game-changing triple in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 fastball from Mike Brown, he banged a 2-run triple to right-center, giving the Blue Rocks a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd triple of the year for Tamamura.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Tamamura. "I like it."

Wilmington now has a record of 56-51 with the win.
