Hillcats Pull Out Late Win, 2-1
|
The Lynchburg Hillcats earned a close win over the Carolina Mudcats, thanks in part to Dwayne Wilson. The Lynchburg right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the CAR with a 3.45 ERA, played a key role in the 10-inning, 2-1 victory. The Hillcats are now 47-60.
Lynchburg used the timely hitting of Juan Árias to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hillcats on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Árias called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
