7-0 Triumph Takes Lynchburg to 59-39
The Lynchburg Hillcats knocked off the Winston-Salem Dash, 7-0, at Ed Smith Stadium. Danny Griffin was a big reason Lynchburg won. The second baseman went 2 for 5 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Myron Clark snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 3.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Ken Jordan closed the door for Lynchburg, picking up his 1st save of the year.

In the top of the seventh, Vince Cleveland stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Dash were trailing 4-0, but had the bases loaded. That's when Ken Jordan made a terrific pitch and Cleveland struck out. Gone was the dream of a Winston-Salem comeback.

The Lynchburg win streak is now 4 games.
