McDonald was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. By defeating Myrtle Beach, the third-place Keys improved to 48-50.

It could have been a different outcome for Frederick, had it not been for Cipriano Hernández, the 22-year old catcher . Hernández contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Frederick up, 5-4.
