Tight Tilt Goes to Nationals, 3-2
The Potomac Nationals faced a tough opponent in Lynchburg pitcher Walt Ashley, but did just enough to pull out the victory at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Ashley went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Potomac is 43-53 and Lynchburg, with the loss, 41-55.

Chet Price had a big solo home run for the Nationals in the bottom of the third inning. With Potomac leading 2-0 and the bases empty, he got a cutter from Walt Ashley and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 8th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nationals ahead, 3-0.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Lynchburg manager Nick Markakis.
