Victory Pushes Hillcats Record to 56-39
|
Spirited fans greeted the Carolina Mudcats for their clash with the Lynchburg Hillcats.
Jeff García was terrific for the Lynchburg Hillcats in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Carolina Mudcats. His performance earned García rave reviews. Jeff García picked up the win in relief for Lynchburg, while Kevin King took the loss. Dylan Fairchild got the save, his 5th in 7 chances.
Lynchburg used a clutch at-bat from Doug Morrison to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hillcats ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Jeff had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Lynchburg manager Nick Markakis.
The Northern Division-leading Hillcats are 56-39.
