The Myrtle Beach Pelicans racked up a win at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark, bumping off the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 5-3. Gene Allen, who started for Myrtle Beach, pitched effectively for his team. The losses continue to mount for Wilmington, which has now dropped 6 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Bob Fuller in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher César García to win the game for Myrtle Beach. The home crowd went nuts.
