Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Frederick Keys and Carolina Mudcats.

Led by 22-year-old Cris González, the Frederick Keys downed the Carolina Mudcats, 6-4. González went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Frederick. Frederick reliever Ken Key got the win, raising his record to 4-3. Shawn Moore was tagged with the loss.

It could have been a different outcome for Frederick, had it not been for Jerry Horne, the 23-year old left fielder . Horne contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Frederick up, 5-4.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," González told the Frederick Herald.

Frederick is now 43-48, while Carolina is 43-48.
