Behind the hitting of Walt Evans, the Carolina Mudcats stopped the Potomac Nationals, 11-4. Evans was 1 for 1 with a double and 4 walks, while scoring 4 runs for the Mudcats. By defeating Potomac, the third-place Mudcats improved to 42-47.

Carolina grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Evans hit a run-scoring double off Steve McGuffie. His 14th double of the season put the Mudcats out in front, 3-2.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Evans told the Carolina Citizen.
