Nationals Down Red Sox, 6-5
|
The Potomac Nationals and Salem Red Sox obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
Potomac right fielder Ernesto García played a vital role in his team's 6-5 conquest of Salem. He went 5-6 with 5 singles and a walk for Potomac. The win was credited to Dylan Henderson in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Jeremy Dunn took the loss.
Steve McGuffie, who is tied for 9th in the CAR in hits with 88, won it for Potomac in the bottom of the sixth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ben Stevens. In the game, McGuffie was 1-5.
"That was high adrenalin and it was fun," McGuffie said.
Potomac is now 40-49, Salem 33-56.
