Nationals Sneak Past Mudcats, 3-2

The Potomac Nationals did just enough to secure a victory over the Carolina Mudcats, 3-2, in 10 innings at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Víctor Lara. Jeremy Hansen picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Rudy Thomas suffered the loss. Potomac is now 36-42, while Carolina is 51-26.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Potomac designated hitter Álex Rodríguez, facing Rudy Thomas, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Nationals the 3-2 win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Rodríguez said.
