Mejía goes 3-for-3 to Fuel Mudcats Offense
The Carolina Mudcats defeated the Potomac Nationals, 9-2, at Grainger Stadium. Steve Mejía produced 2 singles and 1 double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. With the victory, the Mudcats upped their record to 46-24.

Joe Allison had a big run-scoring double for the Mudcats in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Carolina leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Matthews and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mudcats ahead, 3-1.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Mudcats manager John Cornely.
