The Potomac Nationals racked up a win at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium, bumping off the Winston-Salem Dash, 4-1. Al Adams, who started for Potomac, pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Adams, now 5-3. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Michal Bauerewski was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 8 save opportunities.
Potomac took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, catcher Ed Evans hit a solo home run that electrified the crowd.
Adams told a Potomac News reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
The Nationals move to 34-36 with the win, while the Dash drop to 34-36.
