Frederick first baseman Mike Sandoval helped his team beat the Lynchburg Hillcats, 5-3. Sandoval, who is tied for 5th in the CAR in total bases with 116, went 2 for 2 for the Keys. The Frederick winning streak has reached 3 games.
The Keys got a big at-bat from left fielder Gjèrgji Thika. For the game, Thika was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Frederick a 3-2 lead.
After the game, Frederick manager Whit Merrifield applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
