Durant, Dash March to 9-3 Victory
The Winston-Salem Dash beat the Potomac Nationals, 9-3, at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. The win was due in part to left fielder Fernando Durant, who went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Steve Winters was the winner. He's now 4-2. The loser was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Chad Abbasi. The win puts Winston-Salem at 45-22 this season.

Winston-Salem grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Durant hit a grand slam home run off Chad Abbasi. His 17th home run of the season put the Dash out in front, 7-3.

Winston-Salem manager Brent Metheny commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
