Mudcats Top Hillcats to Even Record
The Carolina Mudcats picked up a win at Grainger Stadium, dropping the Lynchburg Hillcats, 5-2. Chris Holtzhouser, who is tied for 3rd in the CAR in strikeouts with 83, was the difference-maker. Holtzhouser, now 4-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Shawn Moore earned save number 13 this season.

The Mudcats got a big at-bat from second baseman Mike Wright. For the game, Wright went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Carolina a 2-0 lead.

"All in all, I thought Chris pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Carolina manager John Cornely.

The Mudcats improved their record to 33-33 with the win over Lynchburg.
