The Wilmington Blue Rocks did just enough to sneak past the Carolina Mudcats, 5-4, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Wilmington pitcher Chris Milton, in particular, had a standout performance. Steve Bell converted his 15th save in 17 tries. The win elevated the Blue Rocks to 35-31.
In the bottom of the fifth, Wilmington shortstop Camil Groza had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and two out, Groza stroked a run-scoring double to right. It made the score 5-4, Wilmington. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 doubles.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Groza told the Wilmington Today. "But we take nothing for granted."
