Blue Rocks Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
Tony Miller impressed in the 3-2 Wilmington win over Salem. Miller was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. The winner in relief was Jeff O'Day. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-4. The win gives Wilmington a season record of 33-24.
Tim Allen was the walk-off hero for Wilmington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blue Rocks left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Bottom line," said Salem skipper Jose Nieves, "we didn't play well enough to win."
