Potomac Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Potomac Nationals used the hitting of left fielder Steve McGuffie to subdue the Lynchburg Hillcats, 7-6. For the game, McGuffie went 2-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Potomac reliever Tony Sandoval, now 1-0. The loser was Chad Cochrane. With this game in the books, Potomac is 24-29, Lynchburg 24-29.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Potomac trailing 6-4, McGuffie jumped on a slider from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Chad Cochrane and hit a 3-run home run to right-center. With one swing, the Nationals had a walk-off win.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," McGuffie told the Potomac Citizen.
