Potomac registered a win at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium by beating the Carolina Mudcats, 4-3. Pitcher Víctor Hernández was one reason why the Nationals triumphed. The loss makes Carolina 27-25.

Potomac took a 4-3 lead on Chris Sampson's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Sampson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Carolina pitcher Kevin King visibly frustrated.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Potomac skipper Cesar Martin. "I can't complain."
