The Frederick Keys picked up a win at New Winston-Salem Ballpark, topping the Winston-Salem Dash, 7-1. On the mound for Frederick was right-hander Dan Thompson. He played a principal role in the triumph. Frederick leads the Northern Division by 3 games.

It could have been a different outcome for Frederick, had it not been for Jeff Gillespie, the 24-year old shortstop . Gillespie contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Frederick up, 2-1.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Thompson.
