Red Sox Earn 6-4 Win Versus Wilmington
|
The Salem Red Sox polished off the Wilmington Blue Rocks by the score of 6-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to center fielder Ron Lindsey. Lindsey was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Red Sox. By defeating Wilmington, the last-place Red Sox improved to 22-28.
Lindsey had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-2 changeup from Mike McCoy, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Red Sox a 6-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Lindsey.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Lindsey.
