Myrtle Beach Drops Another One, 7-3
The Carolina Mudcats finished off the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 7-3. Much of the credit belonged to first baseman Shawn Simmons. Simmons was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Mudcats. Kevin Snyder earned the win. Rodrigo Vargas took the loss for Myrtle Beach. The Mudcats improved their record to 29-15 by beating Myrtle Beach.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Simmons hit a 2-run home run off Rodrigo Vargas. It propelled the Mudcats into the lead, 2-0.

"Obviously," said Myrtle Beach manager Jose Lobaton, "we've hit the skids."
