Another Day, Another Win for Mudcats
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Brad Wright, the Carolina Mudcats defeated the Potomac Nationals, 8-4. Wright went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Mudcats. The winner in relief was José Ramírez. He is now 2-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 5 innings. Shawn Moore collected save number 8.
Wright contributed in the top of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Carolina get the win.
"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Wright.
After today's action, Carolina sits at 20-19, while Potomac falls to 12-27.
