Brit Hargrove, despite pitching a good game, was disappointed in the outcome: a tough, 3-2, defeat for the Frederick Keys at the hands of the Salem Red Sox at Harry Grove Stadium. The win was credited to 23-year old left-handed pitcher Elton O'Neill in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Brit Hargrove took the loss. Mike Lane closed out the game, earning his 6th save.

Ron Bumble, who is tied for 5th in the CAR in doubles with 12, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bumble contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put Salem up, 3-1.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Salem manager Jose Nieves. "Our pregame was pretty good."

With the win, Salem has a record of 14-23. Frederick falls to 22-15.
