Though the conditions were not ideal, the Winston-Salem Dash and Lynchburg Hillcats came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

Steve Winters pitched a gem to lead Winston-Salem to victory over the Lynchburg Hillcats, 9-0. The winner was Winters. He threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Doug Bratcher.

Early in the game, Winters had a run-scoring double for Winston-Salem. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Dash on top, 1-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Winters.

The Dash, at 26-10, have now won 6 straight.
