Winston-Salem Dash starter Joe Wood led his team to victory over the Lynchburg Hillcats, 3-2. The left-hander was locked-in. Reliever Juan Nieves picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Kevin Dudley took the loss. The loss makes Lynchburg 21-14.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Hillcats allowed the Dash to score the winning run.

Winston-Salem manager Brent Metheny called it "a darn good win."
