Valéncia Rips 2 Homers in 5-4 Win

Fans watched the Potomac Nationals and the Frederick Keys fight to the finish.
The performance of Luis Valéncia proved critical in helping Potomac beat Frederick, 5-4. The Nationals catcher was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner was Don Cash in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Sergio López took the loss.
Valéncia had a timely hit for Potomac in the top of the seventh. With Potomac trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 3-2, Potomac.
"We did enough to win," said Valéncia.
The Nationals, now 14-18, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
