The Winston-Salem Dash cut down the Wilmington Blue Rocks by the score of 8-3, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Waylon McFergus. McFergus was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Dash. The Dash improved their record to 22-10 with the win over Wilmington.

Juan Fernández had a big 2-run double for the Dash in the bottom of the first inning. With Winston-Salem leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a circle change from 24-year old right-handed pitcher César García and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dash ahead, 3-0.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," McFergus told the Winston-Salem Herald.
