The Carolina Mudcats powered past the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 10-4, at Grainger Stadium. Jerry King went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3, to lead the charge. The winning pitcher was Kevin Snyder. He's now 2-1. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits for the Mudcats. Dave Phillips nailed down his 1st save.

With Carolina trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, King hit a changeup from Víctor Trujillo for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Mudcats ahead, 2-1.
