Potomac Nationals starter Edgardo González pitched his team past the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 3-1. Edgardo Souza was credited with the save for Potomac, his 2nd of the season. The Blue Rocks drop to 8-8 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2025 season.

Pat Phillips had a big solo home run for the Nationals in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Potomac leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Joe Anderson and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Nationals on top, 2-0.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said González.
