With right fielder Mario Guerra leading the charge, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans defeated the Carolina Mudcats, 11-9, at Grainger Stadium. Guerra went 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Charlie Best earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 4.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Pelicans, now 8-2, have been playing some good baseball.
