Pelicans Get 9-8 Win Versus Winston-Salem
Both teams had their chances, but the Myrtle Beach Pelicans eventually prevailed.

The 9-8 Myrtle Beach win over Winston-Salem was due in large part to Bob Fuller. The Pelicans left fielder went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Pelicans, now 4-0, have stormed out of the gates.

With the game tied, 8-8, in the bottom of the seventh, Fuller had a key at-bat for Myrtle Beach. With the bases loaded, Fuller hit a run-scoring single off Jeff Jones, making the score 9-8, Pelicans.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Myrtle Beach manager Jose Lobaton.
