Storm Pull Out Late Win, 5-4
|
Storm center fielder Jeremiah Parkinson put his stamp on his team's 5-4 win over the San Jose Giants. Parkinson was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks for Lake Elsinore in the contest. The winner was Lake Elsinore reliever Luis Maldonado, now 2-4. The loser was Hal Powell. Jorge Castillo got the save, the 19th for him this season.
Bob Boyd went 3 for 4 with 3 singles for Lake Elsinore. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Hal Powell. It was his 21st RBI of the season.
"We took home the win," said Parkinson. "What's not to like?"
Lake Elsinore, with the win, is 41-86.
