The San Jose Giants trumped the Lake Elsinore Storm, 11-4, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. San Jose catcher Bob Jones was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Mike Thompson earned the win, while 20-year old right-handed pitcher Liam Jarvis took the loss for Lake Elsinore. Lake Elsinore now owns a losing streak of 5 games.

The Giants got a big hit from designated hitter Sean Seals. Facing Lake Elsinore pitcher Liam Jarvis in the bottom of the fifth, Seals pounded a grand slam home run to left. His 4th home run of the season put the Giants ahead, 4-3.

"Their at-bats were really impressive against us," said losing manager Chris Greene.
