Mavericks Get Extra-Inning, 4-3 Win
The High Desert Mavericks did just enough to sneak past the Stockton Ports, 4-3, at Banner Island Ballpark. High Desert pitcher António Ríos, in particular, had a standout performance. Steve Young got the save, the 2nd for him this season. High Desert now sports a record of 52-60.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Joel Brown came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Stockton pitcher Mike Hutchinson, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting High Desert on top, 4-3.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Brown. "I like it."
